HISTORY
In 1986, Harald Schlosser founded a civil engineering office in Zell am See. Thanks to the trust placed in the firm by both public and private clients, and the resulting increase in project volume, the foundation for sustained growth was established.
In 1989, Hans-Georg Leitner joined Harald Schlosser at the management level as a partner and introduced the use of SIBACAD, a CAD software for civil engineers that he had developed based on AutoCAD. This complete transition to computer-aided design marked an early move into the CAD era compared to other engineering firms. Since then, BauCon has been one of the leading companies in this field.
In 1993, Gerald Haussteiner joined the management team as an additional partner, contributing his technical expertise with equal dedication.
That same year, the engineering consortium began its activities in Berlin, Germany, and became a member of the Berlin Chamber of Construction.
In 1996, another step was taken toward office expansion and market adaptation: under the management of Bernd Englacher, a branch office was opened in Kitzbühel, Tyrol.
At the same time, the unified office name and brand BauCon ZT GmbH was established to formally reflect that the full expertise and resources of the firm are available at each office location.
In 1997, the company was certified according to the ISO 9001 standard for project and structural design, local construction supervision and project management. Recertification of the quality management system to the updated ISO 9001:2000 standard followed four years later.
In 2001, another BauCon office opened in Bolzano, Italy, under the management of Simon Neulichedl.
In 2005, the Vienna branch began operations, with Hans-Georg Leitner taking over management there.
As the company expanded its locations, its visibility and success grew in parallel, and the team grew to over 50 employees.
Due to the large number of successfully completed projects - many of them international - BauCon founded a subsidiary in Hanoi, Vietnam, in 2017.
In 2018, Bernd Englacher, Jan-Peter Hasse, and Hans-Martin Leitner joined the company management as additional partners. This marked a strategic step toward the future, as a new generation of civil engineers took their place among the firm's senior leadership.
In 2020, in response to increased activity in the Asian region, another office was opened in Bangkok, Thailand.
BauCon ZT GmbH remains one of Austria’s most respected civil engineering firms, renowned for its commitment to quality and responsible engineering services both at home and abroad.
With the beginning of 2022, another location near Salzburg began operations:
The civil engineering office Krammer will continue under the name "BauCon Salzburg" following the retirement of DI Dietmar Krammer and several long-serving employees. The remaining younger generation, led by DI Josef Krammer, brings valuable expertise and experience in traffic and road planning to the BauCon team.
The Salzburg office will relocate to Bayerhamerstraße 57 in 2024, and will continue operating as a BauCon branch following the retirement of DI Johann Lienbacher. This ensures that the full range of civil engineering services will remain available in the Salzburg region.
Due to the international focus of BauCon Vienna, the newly founded BauCon International ZT GmbH began operations on 1 July 2024, and part of the BauCon family transitioned to the new company.
In 2025, with BauCon Australia, BauCon International will open a new office in Sydney to deliver tailored solutions for the Australian market.
Across Austria, however, the number of employees continues to grow and currently stands at 66 highly qualified individuals with a shared passion for the art of engineering!
