Eibseeseilbahn Zugspitze New ropeway Eibseeseilbahn to the Zugspitze

Baucon ZT GmbH, together with AIS Baumanagement GmbH, Zell am See, and  Hasenauer Architecture, Saalfelden, has won the international selection process: the general planning for a new cable car on the Bavarian side of the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain at 2,962 meters, comes from the Pinzgau specialists.

The prestigious contract includes architectural and technical planning, tendering, construction management as well as quality, time and cost control. The timely start of construction, the limited construction period of a maximum of three to four months per year on the mountain and the general conditions for building at an altitude of 3,000 meters (permafrost) proved to be particular challenges.

30-TGD Hon Thom - Phu Quoc Longest 3S ropeway in the world

BauCon ZT GmbH was commissioned by Doppelmayr Seilbahnen GmbH with the structural design of the stations and towers.

The ropeway connects the holiday islands of Phu Quoc and Hon Thom in the south of Vietnam. With a length of 7,899.9 m, it beats the world record previously held by the 3S Fansipan Legend (6,132.5 m).

The Tower 4 (164 m), Tower 5 (151 m) and Tower 2 (140 m) supports are currently the 2nd, 3rd and 4th highest cableway towers in the world and were built by Gleitbau Salzburg and Vietnamese construction companies. The inspection and acceptance of the main components and construction steps was carried out by BauCon ZT GmbH. The cable car was opened in February 2018.

Cat Ba cable car crossing the Hai Phong habor access channel

The largest aerial tramway in the world brings around six million visitors to the Cat Ba National Park near Hai Phong City, which is popular with tourists. It can transport around 5000 people per hour and direction. This is the maximum captivity of a 3CGD up to 2021.

AreitXpress Zell am See

Baucon ZT GmbH is responsible for the structural design of the new AreitXpress of the Schmittenhöhebahn AG. A modern 10-seater monocable gondola lift replaces the 6-seater gondola lift built in 1988.

The impressive roof structure illustrates the current technical possibilities of modern engineered timber structures. The main supporting structure, consisting of arched laminated wooden beams forming a honeycomb grate and supported at points by slender steel columns, spans the entire bottom station. An innovative solution was also chosen for the roof cladding in the form of a membrane construction.

230-ATW Ha Long Aerial tramway in Vietnam

On behalf of Garaventa, - Doppelmayr, BauCon did the structural calculations and complete design of 2 stations and 2 towers of the new aerial tramway that crosses Ha Long bay.

The smaller tower has a height of 123.45 m. Tower 1 is 188.88 m high and was the highest ropeway tower of the world up tp 2018.

The towers were designed on basis of our design project for a 3S-cable car in the city of Lagos / Nigeria. The execution of the construction works were guided by Gleitbau Salzburg (responsible for slip forming) and Vietnamese construction companies. BauCon checked and approved of the construction of the main parts and the construction stages.

30-TGD Fansipan Cable Car in Vietnam

On Doppelmayr’s behalf, BauCon did the complete structural design and the calculations of 2 stations and 5 towers (reinforced concrete structure and steel structure).

The complete design of the top station building was done on SUN Group's behalf.

The architectonical design of the top station was in cooperation with parc architects / STUDIO LOIS from Innsbruck / Austria. Additionally to the design works, BauCon also did the checking and approving of important structural parts at site.

The cable car was opened in February 2016 and was the longest 3S ropeway with 6,132.5 m in the world – with Pardatschgrat in Ischgl / Austria being the second. And also the height difference of 1,405 m is presently the world record for 3CGD.

The ropeway crosses a large valley of paddy fields (world cultural heritage).
