Projects - Industrial Structures and Power Plants Structural and dynamical calculations, construction design, workshop drawings of all kinds of construction elements and special construction elements of power houses and industrial buildings

Liebherr Sales and Service Headquarters Puch/Urstein

In Puch/Urstein, the Liebherr company built its new sales and service headquarters consisting of a 6-story administration building and a repair center including a hall with around 9,500 m2. The detailed planning had to combine the different requirements regarding work processes, technical equipment and sustainability as well as flexibility for possible future extensions. The very short construction period of only 1.5 years between November 2021 and May 2023 was made possible by the use of precast elements.

1470MW Run of river Power Plant Luang Prabang - Mekong River Client: Ch Karnchang Lao Company Limited

Scope of Work:

BauCon ZT GmbH was awarded as the EPC Contractors Civil Design Engineer for the 1470MW Luang Prabang run off river Hydro Electric Power Plant. Luang Prabang HEPP is located along the Mekong mainstream approximately 25km upstream of Luang Prabang in Lao PDR.

BauCon ZT GmbH was contracted by the EPC Contractor Ch. Karnchang Lao Ltd. to develop the civil design of the power plant. With a nominal capacity of 1470 MW, the Luang Prabang run-of-river hydropower plant will have an annual output of about 6,500 GWh and will provide renewable energy to the electricity network of the Kingdom of Thailand.

Luang Prabang Power Plant consists of a Main Powerhouse with 7 fish friendly and oil free Kaplan turbines, an Auxiliary Powerhouse with 3 smaller Units, an RCC Dam, Navigation Lock, and Spilling Structures to cope with the high floods of Mekong River. The Project is executed as a BIM project.

Luang Prabang HEPP will form a mile stone in the future navigability of Mekong River. Extensive effort is done to develop and further improve the fish passing concept at an outstanding high ecological quality. Detailed information can be found on the webpage of Mekong River Commission.

Limberg III Pumped storage power plant of VERBUND Hydro Power GmbH

Underground power plant between the two existing storage lakes as an extension of the Glockner - Kaprun power plant group. The newly constructed structural, mechanical and electrical power plant facilities are arranged in a cavern, gallery and structure system.

As a member of the engineering consortium PSW Limberg III, Baucon has been entrusted with the implementation planning.

Hagleitner Academy New construction of chemical-technical production and training/development centre

As an extension of the existing location in Zell am See, Hagleitner Hygiene International GmbH created its own "Hagleitner Academy".
The structural engineering work carried out by Baucon ZT GmbH required special expertise due to the difficult foundation conditions on the one hand and the high masses of the production machines on the other.
With approx. 930 t of structural steel and 8,500 m³ of concrete, this "heavyweight" project could be realised.

To the construction report

Qafco Qafco Denox System in Ammonia, Qatar

YARA Environmental Technologies GmbH was commissioned to design a flue gas cleaing unit for the QAFCO plant.
The task of the structural design was given to BauCon ZT GmbH.
Main part of the construction is the so called catalyst-box. Inside this structure there are different baffle and guide plates to control the flue gas flow. Also inside there is a supporting structure for the catalyst elements.

Limberg II pumped storage power station Design of reinforcement drawings for the caverns, for the turbines and transformers as well as the generator busbar systems.

The pump storage hydro power plant with an investment sum of 365 million euros has been constructed completely under ground. It was one of the biggest power plant construction sites in Europe.

About 70,000 m³ of excavated material accumulated when excavating the two caverns. The turbine hall cavern is 62 m long, 25 m wide and 43 m high - the size of the nave of St. Stephens Cathedral.

Some component dimensions:
Floor plate thickness up to 1.50 m
Lower generator ceiling: ceiling thickness 2.00 m
Upper generator ceiling: prestressed ceiling 1.50 m thick

Our design was ordered by Pöyry Energy GmbH
